Terms of use

What this site is for, what it is not, and what you can rely on.

Last reviewed 2 August 2026. By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.

Who we are

This site, myspanishinsurance.com, is owned and operated by Neil Peter Osborne, an individual insurance distributor established in Spain, trading as 247 Expat Insurance (registered address C. Alcalde Clemente García, 19, 5, 30169 San Ginés, Murcia, Spain; NIE Y0339267P; DGSFP registration C0031Y0339267P). Throughout these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to that operator.

What the content is for

Everything here is general information about how insurance works in Spain, written to help you understand a decision rather than to make it for you. It is not advice recommending a particular policy or insurer, it is not legal or immigration advice, and it is not tax or financial advice.

Insurance requirements attached to visas and residence permits are set by the authority handling the application and they change. Always check the current published requirements for your own application before relying on anything here.

Quotes

A quote is an indication of what an insurer would offer on the information given. It is subject to that insurer's acceptance and to the policy wording, and nothing is in force until you have seen the terms and agreed to them.

What you tell us matters. Where a declaration turns out to be inaccurate or incomplete, the duty is limited to the questions the insurer asks — but a claim arising before the insurer acts on it may be reduced proportionally, and the insurer is released from payment only where the policyholder acted fraudulently or with gross fault. Answer the questions properly and the policy does what you expect.

Accuracy

We take care to keep this site accurate and we review it. Spanish insurance law, consulate requirements and market practice all change. Where a page states a legal position it is our understanding at the review date shown on that page, and it is not a substitute for advice on your own circumstances. We publish no premiums, because a price we cannot keep current would mislead.

What we are not liable for

We do not accept liability for a decision made on the basis of general information here, and we ask you to read the insurer's own documents before buying anything.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any right you have as a consumer. If you are a consumer, these terms do not take away the protection given to you by the law of the country you live in, or your right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

Our content

The text, structure and original explanations on this site are ours. Quote briefly with attribution and a link if it is useful to you. Please do not republish pages wholesale.

Links out

We link to insurers, authorities and government resources. We do not control those sites, and a link is not an endorsement beyond the point being made.

Complaints

If something goes wrong with a policy, the route is the insurer’s own customer-service department first and the Dirección General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones after that. Our claims page sets out the deadlines that apply at each stage. If your complaint is about us, write to info@247expatinsurance.com. If we cannot resolve it, you can take it to the Complaints Service of the Dirección General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law, and disputes go to the Courts and Tribunals of Murcia, Spain — without removing any right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings in your local courts.

Changes

We may update these terms. Changes take effect when posted and the review date moves.
